TRAINEE MIGRATION AGENT [407 VISA ELIGIBLE]

The Trainee Migration Agent role is designed for a professional seeking to enhance their skills in Australian Migration Law and Practice. This role is operated under a Subclass 407 Training Visa.

Key Responsibilities and Training Areas

The trainee will participate in a structured training program focusing on:

Case Management and Compliance:

  • Assisting in the preparation and lodgment of VISA Nominations and Applications (Subclass 484, 484, 186 and 407) for Aspire Hospitality Group and their clients. 
  • Conducting detailed file audits to ensure 100% compliance with Department of Home Affairs and MARA Regulations. 
  • Drafting detailed submissions and GTE statements under Supervision of our Registered Migration Agent and HR Team.

Client and Stakeholder Engagement

  • Acting as a secondary point of contact for Aspire Hospitality Group’s recruitment pipeline both onshore and offshore. 
  • Assisting with the “Health and Character” document collection process for offshore applicants. 
  • Participating in consultations to assess candidate eligibility against current migration legislation.

Legislative Research and Updates

  • Utilising legal databases to monitor changes in the Migration Act 1958 and Migration Regulations 1994.
  • Preparing internal briefing notes for the Operations and HR Teams regarding changes to the Skilled Migration Occupations Lists. 

Training Structure
(The "Improve Skills" Framework)

As this is a 407 Training role, the candidate will not work in isolation. Support includes:

  • Supervision: Weekly 1-on-1 mentoring sessions with a Registered Migration Agent (MARN holder).
  • Progression: Quarterly assessments to track skill acquisition against the structured Training Plan.
  • Decomposition: Complex cases will be broken down into manageable learning modules to build the candidate’s capacity to handle autonomous caseloads by the end of the visa term.

Selection Criteria

  • Foundational Knowledge: Must demonstrate an existing understanding of the Australian migration landscape and MARA Code of Conduct.
  • Analytical Skills: Proven ability to identify “root causes” in visa refusals or RFI (Request for Further Information) notices.
  • Communication: Professional-level written and verbal English skills, essential for drafting legal submissions.
  • Organizational Skills: Ability to handle multiple tasks and deadlines while maintaining meticulous attention to detail.
