Aspire Hospitality Group is offering a structured training position for a motivated professional seeking to develop their skills in Australian Migration Law and Practice. This role is operated under a Subclass 407 Training Visa and is designed to provide meaningful, supervised hands-on experience across the full migration case management lifecycle — from initial eligibility assessment through to visa lodgement and compliance.

TRAINING AREAS & KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

The trainee will participate in a structured training program focusing on: 

  • Case Management & Compliance
  • Assist in the preparation and lodgement of visa nominations and applications across relevant subclasses including 407, 482, 494, and 186.
  • Conduct detailed file audits to ensure full compliance with Department of Home Affairs requirements and MARA regulations.
  • Draft submissions and Genuine Temporary Entrant (GTE) statements under the direct supervision of our Registered Migration Agent and HR team.
  • Client & Stakeholder Engagement
  • Act as a secondary point of contact for Aspire’s recruitment pipeline, supporting both onshore and offshore applicants.
  • Assist with the collection of health and character documentation for offshore visa applicants.
  • Participate in eligibility consultations, assessing candidate suitability against current migration legislation and skills frameworks.
  • Legislative Research & Regulatory Monitoring
  • Utilise legal and legislative databases to monitor changes to the Migration Act 1958 and Migration Regulations 1994.
  • Prepare internal briefing notes for the HR and Operations teams on changes to skilled migration occupation lists and policy updates.

TRAINING STRUCTURE

This is a supervised training role delivered under the ‘Improve Skills’ framework required by the 407 Training Visa. The trainee will not work in isolation. Structured support includes:

  • Supervision: Weekly one-on-one mentoring sessions with our Registered Migration Agent (MARN holder).
  • Progression: Quarterly assessments to track skill development against the structured Training Plan.
  • Structured Learning: Complex cases will be broken down into manageable learning modules to progressively build the candidate’s capacity to handle autonomous caseloads by the end of the visa term.

SELECTION CRITERIA

  • Foundational Knowledge: Demonstrated understanding of the Australian migration landscape, visa subclass structures, and the MARA Code of Conduct.
  • Analytical Skills: Proven ability to identify root causes in visa refusals or Requests for Further Information (RFIs) and develop reasoned responses.
  • Communication: Professional-level written and verbal English skills, sufficient for drafting legal submissions, client correspondence, and regulatory documents.
  • Organisational Skills: Ability to manage multiple active cases and deadlines simultaneously while maintaining meticulous attention to detail.

  • Organizational Skills: Ability to handle multiple tasks and deadlines while maintaining meticulous attention to detail.
